Biggest National Night Out event yet happening Aug. 4
An expanded National Night Out in a new location makes the 2026 National Night Out event the biggest yet for the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and its community partners.
The free event will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, in the parking lot of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 1600 N. 291 Highway, Liberty, Mo. The goal of the event – part of the national community-building National Night Out campaign - is to enhance relationships between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.
Previously held in downtown Liberty, the event is moving due to construction at the Liberty Police Department. New at the event this year are:
Kearney Police Department
Missouri Department of Conservation
Missouri State Park Rangers
U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration
Mothers Against Drunk Driving
In addition to the aforementioned organizations, National Night Out will feature multiple units and displays from:
- The Clay County Sheriff's Office, including the STAR Team, drone, K9, Investigations, School Resource Deputies with Ident-a-kid, Detention, Clay County Emergency Management and many more
- Liberty Police Department
- Liberty Fire Department
- Liberty Animal Control & Shelter with adoptable animals
- Liberty Parks and Recreation
- Missouri State Highway Patrol
- Clay County Parks
- Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium
- Clay County Public Health Center
